Eng 210
There aren’t many words left
to describe
the welling of my lungs with air,
a steady ache in the deep of my tissue
as it saturates with a heavy molecule
that remains invisible to the eye,
but can be felt in all its gravity,
all the time.
The trembling act of inhalation,
made only bearable by the brief exhale
that releases a tense resevoir
is how i’ve learned to hold us
and renew us
every day.
